Who Can Volunteer

Where possible, Reach Out and Read volunteers (over 18 y.o.) are based in the waiting room at outpatient primary care health centers, engaging children of all ages and their families with books and reading aloud.  Volunteers model book-sharing techniques and show by example that reading aloud is fun for parent/family and child.

How to Volunteer

Visit the Reach Out and Read National Center website list to find a Reach Out and Read health center in your area and look for the “heart” symbol to contact a Reach Out and Read Site Coordinator directly. Most Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia sites have their own application, interview, on-boarding and orientation requirements for volunteering so please contact info@rorgp.org or 215-590-5989 and press 1 for more information.
