Volunteer

Our volunteer readers transform waiting rooms into literacy-rich areas for children and parents, helping families to learn the joys and the techniques of reading aloud.

RORGP volunteers come from all walks of life but have two important traits in common: a love of books and stories, and a genuine interest in helping children.

What You Can Do

Volunteers read to children, model book-sharing techniques and show by example that reading aloud is fun for parent and child.

Check out the ROR National Center Site List to find a ROR clinic in your area and look for the “helping hand” symbol to contact a ROR site coordinator directly. Most ROR Greater Philadelphia sites have their own volunteer orientation and requirements for volunteering.
